With only TEN weeks until publication, I’m THRILLED to be able to reveal the cover for ‘The Drowning of Arthur Braxton’.
The plan is to have clear gloss dots all across the front, so you get the cover image but with shiny dots on the front (click on the images to make them larger). There are a few minor additions for the back cover, but I wanted to share this with you today. Let me know what you think.

Ooh, love it. Especially the dots – like a swimming pool x
Yes, bubbles of water. It’s all about the water, my wee siren x
Ooh, yes, that is very, very lovely.
Thank you!
Now please!!
Looks completely fantastic x
Very different to my other covers, yes? Glad you like it! x
Oooo, this is drop dead gorgeous. And from what I can tell from the blurb, really reflects the novel. Very very pretty and somewhat haunting.
Thanks Jamieson! I hope that the content fits for you too
x
Absolutely love it, especially the dots – really unique! Can’t wait to read it
Thanks Hannah! Hope everything’s going well for you at uni x
Your covers are always innovative and individual, Caroline. And in a market where so many covers look the same, yours always look like the designer has actually read the book, or at least knows what it’s about.
This one is a real attention grabber and all the better for it.
Thanks Paul – that’s such an amazing thing to say x
Would pick it up and read back and most probably buy a copy, after 30 days. Am a capricon image has to stick. I think this one would.
Thank you! I’ve just clicked on your link and that’s a very perfect cover!
Great title and an eye-catching cover. Glad I’m allowed to buy books again this year. On my pre-order list.
I’m glad you are too. Although I’m trying hard not to think too much about people reading it
It looks slightly eerie, maybe even a little bit scary. Really looking forward to reading it xx
Thanks Jeanie! I think the cover is going to divide people, but I’m hoping it won’t stop them from picking it up… x
I think the cover looks fab, if slightly scary, but mostly because it has your name on it and I can’t wait to read another novel of yours. I’ve pre-ordered. Hurry up, April!
Thanks Rebecca. I’ve been thinking about the cover a lot, actually for months now, and it is a true reflection of the sense of ‘missing’ that is a major theme in the novel. The aim is to move me into a new readership – my eldest child loves it, so perhaps other male readers will too. He’s hoping! And thanks so much for the pre-order x
It looks amazing! I am looking forward to reading it, seems a looooong time since I last got to read one of your wonderful books.
Thanks Deej! And, yes, it has been a long time. It’ll be almost 3 years since I had a paper novel out! x
Can’t wait, another fabulous cover to covert. And another enigmatic title, so original and I’m sure the novel will be too.
Hey sheepish! Lovely to see you here, my dear. Thank you x
Definitely one I’d pick up if I saw it in a shop.
Thanks Cathy!
