Guess Who?

by Caroline Smailes on July 14, 2009

2398625902_7c1104c668_mI have a secret crush that I have never ever admitted online. It’s someone who I ‘stalked’ some 13 years ago, after G and I went to a specific destination to look for him. I never found him (I think he was hiding). As a student, I wore both a ring and a badge with his image on it. I loved him, truly.

Over time, the ring and the badge have been locked into my most precious memory box. A postcard, with his smiling face on it, decorates the wall next to my desk. He made a film, or two, but they never satisfied my needs. All of these  things simply reminded my heart of unrequited love and failed ‘stalking’.

But, (and this is the bit that has made me squeal and unable to get to sleep last night) next week I am off in search of him again and this time I have my 3 fabulous kiddies to help me. We are determined.

So, oh go on,  guess my celebrity crush?

(if you are one of the few who do know this inner most secret or know where I am going, ssssssh)

Jimmy Savile? Daniel O’ Donnell? (Please not Daniel O’ Donnell.)

For a moment I thought you were going to say something lurid about Frans from Guess Who – when Bill was clearly a lot more handsome. I’ve drawn the line at googling ‘80s heart throbs’ though.

Does he have foppish hair?

Fran is my favourite from Guess Who. I love my gingers.

And, in answer to your question, sometimes he has foppish hair but is not known for it. I think his son has it (but that’s a little known fact).

Gingers. What’s good about gingers? In France they have a saying that gingers smell when it rains. My favourite Guess Who man was Charles. He had a big ‘tache and looked like an ex-army officer. He was inspirational.

Matt – I think I liked Bill too. I love Guess Who.

I have NO idea… but would just like to say that it was my cousins who created the game Guess Who! Exciting, eh?! Yes, they are rather wealthy, no they didn’t pass the wealth on to me.

I am so impressed! Wow and wow! Are any of the faces based on them? x

I think so! Can’t quite remember, they designed it in the 1970s… They’re amazingly creative people, in their late 70s now and still designing games.

It’s not poor old Kermit is it???!

Reply

23 Caroline Smailes July 14, 2009 at 2:14 pm

A mighty fine guess! I used to have a Kermie when I was younger and then I bit a chunk out of his nose and couldn’t look at him again. So not Kermie, because I’d not expect to find Kermie in France… x

I thought it was going to be Chris Evans when I saw the picture. Which would have been spooky because I love him only slightly less than I love Simon x

First of all what’s wrong with red heads!!! I’m married to one and Edward is one (ohh Edward!!). If it’s Edward Cullen then hands off, he’s taken, I saw him first, and I’ll fight you for him ;)

Seriously I have no idea. Back in the 80′s it was Morten Harket for me, not him is it?

38 Caroline Smailes July 16, 2009 at 9:04 am

Red heads are my favourite! And no, so far away from my crush. Guess I’d better tell people…
