Matilda the cat

by Caroline Smailes on December 8, 2009

She still isn’t home.

It’s been four weeks now. It’s been four cold and wet weeks and Matilda was, is (which tense should I use?) such a home-loving cat.

I know there’s little hope.

I’m very sorry to hear that. Today doesn’t seem like it’s been the best, maybe. Perhaps time to drink tea and get cosy, wrap yourself up with a good book
Tons of love and thoughts to you,

Today has been rubbish because I’m feeling so ill and everything feels so doom and gloom filled. Time for an early night x

Oh honey, I know it’s really hard. Monty had been gone more than a month when we found him and we had given up hope. She could be trapped somewhere or someone could have taken her in. The only thing you can do is spread the word as widely as possible. Local paper? Local radio (BBC are usually happy to help with things like that)

Sending hugs x

I’m so sorry to hear that. I guess you have to hope that she’s been adopted by a kindly old dear who feeds her tuna x

Oh Caroline, I’m so sorry. We had a cat that disappeared frequently. He had about four other homes in our neighbourhood: a proper ‘Six Dinner Sid.’

Keeping my fingers crossed…

Awwww. I hope some old lady had adopted her thinking she was a stray. I also hope you get an answer about where she is soon. Today would be nice.

I am so sorry to hear that!

Our cat Caspian once went missing for two months, but we did get him home! He was injured and had to undergo surgery, but it was obvious he was happy to see us. He was found less than a mile away from home. He had been scared off by some fireworks someone set off at a nearby park, and then he got injured and couldn’t get back.

He was returned to us through the RSPCA due to his having been micrchipped. I completely recommend microchipping for pets!

Maybe Mathilda’s been taken in by someone? I hope you get her back! (((hug)))

Helen M Hunt – I’m hoping that someone has taken her in, as she’s such a free spirit and without a collar. It’s the not knowing that is hard to deal with.

SandyCalico – I’d really like that to have happened.

Trousers – thanks hun x

JJ Beattie – thank you. Maybe she’ll return but it’s so out of character for her to be gone so long :(

Beth – hugs to you too x

DJ Kirkby – today would be lovely or Christmas Eve. I’m really hoping that Littlest doesn’t ask Santa to bring her back :(

moonduster (Becky) – 2 months! There is hope then! The RSPCA and Cat Rescue have no news for us, but… 2 months gives me hope. Thank you.
