happily ever afterWhat if when I journey back from the home of happily ever after, what if all my ‘noir’ is gone?

What if I everything I write rhymes and cannot be performed without dance routines and woodland creatures?

What if all my endings are… (gulp) happy?

Then you will have searched and found that the “me” is a happy me – or you will have bounced from sad to happy and then rest pendulum like precisely in the middle……

People change. Things come out different. I write cheery stuff most of the time, but the Borders writing group makes me come out with murders and suicides and all kinds of non-cheery stuff. And although sometimes happy endings seem fake, sometimes they are the realest of the real.

Your books will still be amazing, happy endings or sad.

Even happy endings can be bittersweet … can’t imagine you’re thinking Disney? :)

Seems a bit unlikely after your first two novels but whatever you put your mind and talent to it’s bound to be quality. So stop “bleeting” and get back to work. Sorry that sounds a bit rude it’s actually meant to be funny!!!!

I’ll second the idea of the Bambi machine gun rampage!

trousers – worrying makes the world go round.

Mel – you’re lovely!

Queenie – novels 3 and 4 are not dark. 4 is very light… honest.

Helen M Hunt – so true!

Beth – thanks honey. Happily ever after, here I come!

Kate Lord Brown – bittersweet are the best type.

sheepish – so liked what you did there :)

claire p – how could Bambi pull the trigger? Perhaps he could eat them instead?

Rosie Scribble – ooooh the dark dark minds :)
